Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation – Victorian Branch

Nursing for the Environment

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation – Victorian Branch has developed a two day course for nurses and midwives, Nursing for the Environment, which emphasises how sustainability fits in with their scope of practice.

Mitigation options are consistent with the internationally recognised Global Green and Health Hospitals network and include leadership, chemicals, waste, energy, water, transportation, food, pharmaceuticals, buildings and purchasing.

Upskilling covers topics such as how to develop a business case, communicate with management, understand state reporting, conduct an audit, participate in advocacy and develop action plans.
