IKEA Richmond Refurbishment Project
A major refurbishment of the IKEA Richmond outlet has been achieved using key sustainability and energy saving principles.
The refurbishment demonstrates how sustainable growth can be central to success in any business operation. The rebuilding of the showroom, the installation of a cafe and improvements in store navigation involved recycling of approximately 85 per cent of all construction materials. Additionally, 2,364 solar panels and a solar hot water system with new energy saving appliances were installed.
All measures are now used to communicate the value of sustainability principles to customers, staff and the broader community.
