RMIT Sustainable Urban Precincts Program
The Sustainable Urban Precincts Program was conceived in 2008 by RMIT as a vehicle to reduce its emissions using sustainable built environment practices.
Delivered across three RMIT campuses in Melbourne, the project overcomes the challenges of working with building stock and technologies that were up to 100 years old. The result has seen significant reduction in grid electricity use and water consumption while providing operational improvements that benefit the entire RMIT stakeholder community.
At completion in 2017, RMIT was on track to achieve annual emissions savings of 39 per cent.
